The growers’ cooperative of St Felix de Lodeve was born in 1942 thanks to winemakers realizing the importance of coming together to develop. Over the years, the cooperative has expanded by combining the respect of land and traditions all while thinking of the future.
In this sense, during the creation of denominations for quality control (VDQS in 1949 and the AOC Languedoc in 1985), it’s quite natural that the cooperative choose to go to more qualitative production by proposing appellations wines.
In 1990, always in this quality-centered approach, plot selection was started. This work done by committee allows to carefully choose the grapes for the elaboration of top of range cuvées.
The first merger took place in 1996 with the cooperative of Ceyras.
In 2000 the cooperative built a new wine cellar to welcome customers in a place with the possibility to taste wines. A wine storehouse with oak barrels was also opened for the ageing of our wines.
In the years following, initiatives for environmental protection and quality management developed. That is how in 2003 a group of winemakers began practicing sustainable agriculture. The same year the cooperative received ISO 9001 certification which assures quality at every level of the company.
In 2004 there was a new merger with St Jean de la Blaquière, which led to a new name: “Les Vignerons de St Felix St Jean”.
A rejuvenation in 2009 led to the name "Vignoble des 2 Terres" for a new youthful energy.
In 2010 the first winemakers launched into organic winemaking. They began with 60ha cultivated entirely organically.
The first organic wine packaged in bottles and 5L BIBs will be marketed in 2015 under the label IGP Oc Rosé Cinsault / Grenache.
The following year, this was complemented by the IGP Oc Cinsault/Grenache red wine.
Our vineyard comprises 600ha (1400 acres) of Saint Jean de la Blaquiere to Saint Felix de Lodez. Lots of discovery and extraordinary hikes with a diversity of landscapes awaits visitors.
